Introduction of gasket

2022-06-29
The gasket is the part between the nut and the connecting piece. Generally a flat metal ring, used to protect the surface of the connector from the nut scratch, to disperse the pressure of the nut on the connector.
Function of gasket:
1. In the screw with nut, the function of gasket is to increase the contact area, reduce the pressure and protect the parts and screws.
2. Gasket refers to the material made of paper, rubber sheet or copper sheet, which is placed between two planes to strengthen the sealing, and the sealing element set between the static sealing surface to prevent fluid leakage.
3, gasket is a mechanical seal between two objects, usually used to prevent pressure, corrosion, and natural thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline leakage between two objects. Since machined surfaces cannot be perfect, irregularities can be filled with gaskets. Gaskets are usually made from sheet materials such as pad paper, rubber, silicone rubber, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile-butadiene rubber, glass fiber plastic polymers (such as PTFE). Gaskets for specific applications may contain asbestos.
4. Generally, the screw with the nut is fixed in the through hole, and the diameter of the through hole is generally slightly larger than the screw. Therefore, gaskets are needed to increase the contact area. Protect parts. Lock parts, reduce pressure, protect parts and screws.
